Collins Center Fire Company Restructures Annual Fund Drive

Memorial Day Parade Also Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Restrictions

Collins Center— May 11, 2020With the recent local, state, and national announcements of major COVID-19 restrictions, this local fire company has had to instill dramatic changes to their largest fundraising program: their annual fund drive.  The company depends on this endeavor to bring in roughly 40% of their expected revenue every year.

They will distribute their newsletter via Every Door Direct Marketing (EDDM) to all residents in the 14034 and 14035 zip codes.  “We hope people will understand that some CCFC district residents (those in 14070, 14091, and 14141) will not be included and some will be included who are in another company’s district, but it is by far the easiest way to disperse our newsletter.  In light of that, however, we will utilize our hall sign, our website, and our Facebook page to circulate this information as well.  We are forever dedicated to our community and we need their support more than ever as we have had to reframe our operations; we’ve had to manage on a day-to-day basis at times in this erratic situation; we have had to prepare for the unexpected – not just financially,” note both President Bob Timmel and Secretary Joy Johnson.

CCFC hosts two chicken barbeques per year, one coming up on Sunday, September 20, 2020.  They plan to have some Fund Drive materials available and accept donations at that time as well.

Founded in 1892, Collins Center Fire Company can be followed on Facebook and accessed via their web site at  Donations will be gratefully accepted at PO Box 461, Collins Center, NY 14035 (please be sure to enclose your address on a request for a receipt if you wish to have one mailed back to you).
